Solo exhibition William Ludwig Lutgens at 38CC (Delft, NL)

04.03.2023 — 30.04.2023

In his first solo exhibition in the Netherlands, titled "Happy to hear you're doing fine," the Belgian artist William Ludwig Lutgens explores the complexities of the human ego and the relationship between bodies and freedom. Lutgens' works incorporate references to art historical and global events, human behaviours, perversities, fantasies and humour.

Lutgens employs a variety of media, including sound, paintings, drawings, and sculpture, to create a tactile setting that invites visitors to experience his work on a visceral, sensory level. The scattered three-dimensional puppets can be interpreted as paintings, sitting, and hanging in postures throughout the exhibition space. They act as mirrors, alluding to individual loneliness and a sense of belonging.
