‘NEIGHBOURS’ - Sculpture Garden
Curated by Manor Grunewald
Scenography by Bram Vanderbeke
This summer, EventFlanders and Tourism Flanders invites you to unique experiences where Rubens plays the leading role. From August 17 to October 12, the gardens of the Rubens Castle (het Rubenskasteel) house a unique sculpture garden. A place to discover, learn and be amazed by the play of form and color.
The idea stems from Rubens' special affinity for sculpture. When Rubens lived in Rubens Castle, he accompanied for three years the young sculptor Lucas Faydherbe from Mechelen to whom he entrusted the creation of various sculptures.
For the creation of the sculpture garden, under the name "NEIGHBOURS," Ghent curator Manor Grunewald was called in. Bram Vanderbeke is responsible for the scenography. Expect works by national and international artists
