From 17 October to 3 November 2024, WONDER in the Kortrijk city centre pushes the boundaries of your imagination.
Young creative force and established names from all walks of life and disciplines - from design, innovation, technology to art - will present their vision of a better future. WONDER takes you along a free tour of special places in Kortrijk UNESCO City of Design, with stunning exhibitions, installations and events.
‘STARLIGHT SHINE’, 2024
‘STARLIGHT SHINE’ integrates all characteristics inherent to Verhelst’s work. Originated from its digital canvas, The installation invites the spectator to experience a physical immersive journey that unfolds the “process of a carwash” through the lens of the ‘TRIPPY VEGAS’ universe.
Navigating as a visitor, you are immersed in a textile world of diverse innovative weaving techniques, each produced with leftover yarn in collaboration with leading Belgian textile production companies. The walls, loors, and various elements are not just surfaces but narrative layers, each representing a different stage of the transformation process—from initial “cleansing” to final “polish”.
With ‘STARLIGHT SHINE’, the juxtaposition of digital elements and tactual craftsmanship challenges you to see both technology and tradition in a new light.

Practical: WONDER will be free to visit between Thursday 17 October and Sunday 3 November, from Thursday to Sunday each time (i.e. closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday). During the week from 9am to 6pm, on weekends and autumn holidays from 10am to 6pm (also on 1 November).
