Bram Bogart

Bram Bogart

Bram Bogart (°1921 +2012 Netherlands/Belgium)
Bogart manifested as a self-learnt figurative painter, who created landscapes, city views and still-lives in expressionist manner. Later, he turned to abstract painting and eventually developed utmost simplified style in his works which were visually reduced to just a few spots in mostly primary colors. Bogart experimented with oil paint mixing it with water and came to singular textures with thick and pasty layers of paint. The unique relief of his painting proved to be a constituent element to the very composition of an artwork.
