Lysandre Begijn NL, b. 1977
Biography
Lysandre is an artist who works with a variety of media ranging from painting, to sculpture and installation. After her studies in psychology she began her artistic practice with sculpture and later mixed media at KASK Ghent. In the past, she has exhibited in Los Angeles, London, Montreal, New York, Brussels and Ghent. Her work revolves around the human face and the idea that it shows some human essence. However, the material flatness of the faces is often broken by three dimensional sculptural elements that reflect the indefinability of mankind.
